At St. Mary, we use this guiding principle to shape decisions about curriculum, enrichment, faith formation, and service. We believe that being a St. Mary student from elementary through 8th grade makes a lasting impact on a child’s confidence, academic and social growth, and connection to community.

“St. Marys focuses not only on academic excellence but also on developing good human beings and responsible members of society. The active involvement of parents in the school community is remarkable, and the dedication to nurturing the whole child intellectually, socially, and spiritually sets St. Mary’s apart from other schools. Our children are not just students here; they are growing into well-rounded individuals.”

“We originally chose St. Mary School because we could feel the strength of the community. We watched our children thrive in a warm and caring environment built by teachers, staff and parents. We are so grateful for our school community for nurturing their growth academically, socially and spiritually these past nine years—invaluable!”

“One of the things that stands out at St. Mary School is how students of all ages form friendships. It’s amazing to see our first grader chatting and playing with eighth graders. This cross-grade interaction builds a unique sense of unity and helps every child feel like an important part of the community.”

“The smaller class sizes, excellent teachers, and vibrant town of Los Gatos all contribute to an enriching experience that extends far beyond the classroom. It’s a place where children not only receive a top-notch education but also form cherished memories that will last a lifetime. St. Marys isn’t just a school; it’s a home away from home, a place where every child is valued, supported, and inspired to reach their full potential.”

“St. Mary School feels like a home. When you walk on campus, you feel like you’re with family. All the kids know each other, no matter what grade. I love that I can drop off my kids and if there’s an issue or a problem, there’s 100 other families that’ll take care of them. And I would do it too, for any one of these kids.”
– Parent of 3rd, 4th, & 6th Graders
“St. Mary School offers an extraordinary opportunity for children. It’s a place where every child is recognized by name, where they’re not just another face in the crowd, but individuals with unique potential waiting to be unlocked. Here, we lay the groundwork for their growth, providing them with a firm foundation from which they can confidently navigate life’s challenges. Our goal is to equip every student who walks out of our doors with the skills and resilience needed to tackle anything that comes their way.”

“As a mom, it’s incredibly reassuring to have a network of parents who truly care. If I’m running late, I know I can call another parent to help with my kids. People genuinely rally around each other, offering meal trains or carpooling. It’s a whole community effort raising our children together, and it’s beautiful to see.”
– Parent of Kindergartener, 2nd, 3rd, & 5th Graders
“After the loss of our child, God gifted us with this loving community. We transferred from public school to St. Mary’s. While education can be found anywhere, St. Mary’s offers something more—spirituality, religion, healing, friendship, support in both education and personal growth, charitable works, prayers, inclusive sports, and the gift of welcoming all. These are the true treasures of this school.”
– Parent of Alum (’21 & ’25)

“When we got here, I just immediately fell in love with it. I love the faith-based education. I love the intimate size classrooms. I also love being in Downtown Los Gatos. I quickly felt the community, the overflowing parent participation and the interest in the success of the school and, frankly, the greater growth of the kids.”
